WORM TEA
Worm Tea is a solution that is produced by filtering water through a medium that consists of organic material. The organic material is consumed by a population of worms that create the worm castings. The product serves as a liquid fertilizer that is rich in nutrients.
The organic material we use to feed the worms is a mixture of food scraps, horse chicken manure, and plant cuttings. We obtain our food scraps from the local community kitchen and bakery. The 5,000 or so worms were purchased to start the process and over time the worm population continues to grow thus allowing us to produce more worm tea in less time. . We use two flat bottom boats that empty the solution into a gutter that fills 5 gallon buckets. The tea is then left for a couple days to evaporate increasing the concentration of the solution. The fluid is then passed on to a utility sink. Where we are able to fill up quart size bottles. The plastic bottles are upcycled from the Bakery producing the final product that we are able to sell.
